The couple clad themselves in custom-designed ensembles from the label Jade by Monica and Karishma. While Nayanthara embraced a traditional yet contemporary look in a regal red saree, Vignesh kept it simple and elegant in a kurta and veshti. The actress also paid a tribute to traditions and sought inspiration from the architecture of the Hoysala Temple for her wedding saree. Wondering how? Well, read on.
Actress Nayanthara was keen to embrace a blend of a contemporary yet traditional look for her big day. She opted for a custom-made saree in a vermilion red shade that was adorned with tone-on-tone embroidery details. She wore it with a matching full-length sleeves blouse. The actress also added a floor-sweeping veil to her look.
Spilling details about Nayanthara’s exquisite wedding saree, designers Monica and Karishma said that the embroidery on the saree was inspired by the carvings of the temples of Hoysala. The designers also reimagined Goddess Lakshmi motifs as bajubandh on the sleeves of the blouse, in a thoughtful tribute to Nayanthara’s love for tradition.
The actress opted for a heavy assemblage of jewels to complete her bridal look. She wore an ornate choker, a satlada and another heavy necklace to complement her regal red ensemble. A maang tikka, a set of bangles and oversized studs perfectly rounded off her jewellery game.
