Current water levels in Mullaperiyar and Vaigai dams, along with rainfall data for various locations in the region.
The water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 120.15 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 320 cusecs and a discharge of 755 cusecs. In Vaigai dam, the water level was 56.56 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 568 cusecs and a discharge of 69 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 4,051.43 mcft. The rainfall (in mm) recorded during the last 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Saturday was as follows: Chittampatti 8.4, Andipatti 7.8, Thekkadi 3.8, Sothupparai dam 2.6, Mullaperiyar dam 1.4, Madurai 1.2, Kallandiri and Viraganur 1 each.
