A woman in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj switched her gender to be with her girlfriend after families opposed their relationship.
Two women, who are lesbians, vowed to be partners throughout their journey, but when the family did not accept their relationship, one of them decided to undergo surgery to change her gender. The woman, madly in love with her partner, decided to switch her gender to avoid any hurdles and stop the interference of other people.
The woman tried all the possible ways to persuade the families but in vain and when she was left with no other option, she decided to change her gender.
A team of doctors at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj conducted the sex reassignment surgery when altercations were made to her upper body parts and chest restructuring. The doctors said that the surgery would take another 1.5 years, following which she would become a man.
Dr Mohit Jain told India Today, "The woman will be given testosterone replacement therapy. The testosterone therapy will stimulate the growth of chest hair."
