President Donald Trump's plan to offer a 'gold card' visa for $5 million could open up increased immigration fraud as well as lead to national security risks, one expert warns.
The comments come after Trump announced Tuesday a plan that would give those willing to pay $5 million for a "gold card" lawful permanent U.S. residency status and a pathway to citizenship, which the president argued would lead to several economic benefits. "They’ll be wealthy, and they’ll be successful," Trump told reporters from the Oval Office on Tuesday. "They’ll be spending a lot of money and paying a lot of taxes and employing a lot of people, and we think it’s going to be extremely successful."
