VIT Chennai's Vibrance 2025: Cultural & sports festival with IPL auctions, dances, quizzes, and more till March 1.
The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Chennai campus was full of energy, with mock Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions, quizzes, Adzap, clay modelling, tug-of-wars, and a host of other activities under way as part of Vibrance 2025. The ninth edition of the cultural and sports festival will be on till March 1.
Siddheshwar Ramani of the Voiceit Club said he was very happy to see that the city had a very vibrant Adzap community. “The concept presented by the various teams were excellent. The team from Gurunanak College, which came first, aimed to advertise a cricket bat,” he said.
Traditional dances from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, such as Gharba, Mangala Gauri, and Lawani, brightened the morning of day 2, said Ayush Pramod Dhumal, who is part of the Swaraj Club, which brought together around 100 performers in their traditional attire. P. Deepak of the Culture It Club said an artist who sketched quick caricatures for a small fee was popular among the students.
Samarth Parameswaran, a third year student, said that right from January, the usually academically focused campus turned festive with pre-Vibrance sports events such as a futsal tournament and an inter-club cricket tournament building up the mood towards the four-day cultural extravaganza. The bike shows and flash mobs attracted huge audiences.
S. Swetha, a student who is part of the communications team, said Vibrance gave them the opportunity to organise and be team leaders since over 1,000 volunteers had worked together to make the event a memorable one. Noticeboards became marketing boards and plain walls became meme zones, and the lawn sprayer became a favourite photo shoot spot, she said.
