The Ashes: Pat Cummins, who was announced as Australia's new Test captain on Friday, said that he will be leading a "tightly knit" squad and that he will be leaning on everyone during his stint.
Newly appointed Australia Test captain Pat Cummins said that he will be looking to take a "collaborative approach" to leading the team. Cummins was announced as captain on Friday with former skipper Steve Smith as his vice-captain ahead of the Ashes.
The 28-year-old said that he will be looking to empower other players to own their role within the team. "I'm naturally quite a calm person. I'm quite positive. I'll be leaning on everyone. I'm a big one for empowering individuals to own their role," Cummins told the media shortly after the announcement.
