On August 7, the personnel found a large white horse stuck belly-deep in the mud, unable to move. The pictures of the heroic rescue were shared by Denton County Emergency Services District #1 on Facebook and have garnered a lot of attention from netizens.
In the pictures shared by the Denton County Emergency Services District #1, a large Belgian draft horse named Bella can be seen stuck in thick mud near a stock pond. The mud was all around it, up to its belly, and the helpless creature was unable to move. However, the team quickly dug around the mud to create a space underneath. They did so to fit ropes to get the animal out. The photos showed the rescue team covered in mud as well.
"Yesterday morning, crews from Denton County ESD # 1 and Double Oak Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call in Copper Canyon to rescue a horse that was stuck in the mud. Upon arrival, personnel found a large Belgian draft horse in thick mud up to its belly next to a stock pond.Firefighters dug through the mud and created space underneath the horse to fit ropes to help get the animal out," reads the caption of the post on Facebook.
According to the caption, a veterinarian was also present on the scene. They provided post-trauma care to Bella and gave her IV fluids, food and water.
"A veterinarian was on the scene with medication and assisted in taking care of the horse named Bella, who was still last night with IV fluids, food, and water. Thanks to the team consisting of firefighters, volunteers, veterinarians, and citizens that were involved in this rescue," reads the caption further.
