Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau partners with Edistys Foundation and Kriyate Edutech for 'drug-free wellness' initiative, educating teens on substance abuse.
The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) has joined hands with Edistys Foundation and Kriyate Edutech to launch the ‘drug-free wellness’ initiative.
This online educational programme is designed to equip teenagers and other key stakeholders across Telangana with the knowledge and tools to make informed, responsible decisions regarding drugs and substance abuse, said director of the bureau Sandeep Shandilya.
The initiative aims to provide teens with interactive, engaging content that will help them better understand the dangers of substance abuse. The programme’s core objectives include educating students on the risks and consequences of drug and substance abuse, to empower them to make responsible life choices that promote overall well-being, and to actively involve parents and educational institutions in the fight against drug abuse, fostering a community-based approach in tackling the issue.
The initiative will provide participating students with a certificate of completion, issued jointly by TGANB, Edistys Foundation and Kriyate Edutech. This certification highlights the collaborative commitment of the partners to create a lasting, positive impact on the lives of the students.
Also addressing the gathering were the daughter of Inspector General of Police (SIB), B. Sumathi Samskriti Konduru, a representative from Kriyate Edutech, and Sriharshitha Chada from Edistys Foundation. They both reaffirmed their commitment to raising awareness and partnering with organisations like TGANB to bring about meaningful societal change.
14-year-old Samskriti Konduru, a tech enthusiast and social entrepreneur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TGANB to take the wellness course to one million teens across Telangana. “This makes Telangana the first State in the country to commit to such an ambitious and interactive online initiative aimed at raising awareness about drugs and substance abuse, spearheaded by a teen,” said the director.
