Tamil Nadu Governor visits Ayya Vaikundar Avathara Pathi in Tiruchendur

Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi visits Ayya Vaikundar Avathara Pathi in Tiruchendur, amidst warm welcome and heightened security.
Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi visited Ayya Vaikundar Avathara Pathi located adjacent to the seashore in Tiruchendur, on Thursday.
As part of his visit to attend various events in Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli scheduled on February 27 and 28, the Governor arrived here to a warm welcome accorded by District Collector K. Elambahavath and Superintendent of Police Albert John.
Following this, the Governor proceeded to Ayya Vaikundar Avathara Pathi in Tiruchendur and was welcomed to a ‘Kulavai’, a sound, which is a traditional practice of expressing joy on festive occasions. Before visiting the pathi, the Governor also performed rituals at the Tiruchendur seashore, officials said.
At Tiruchendur, he was welcomed by functionaries of “Ayyavazhi Akila Thirukudumba Sabha” and he was presented with a portrait of Ayya Vaikundar and a traditional lamp.
In view of the Governor’s visit, security was beefed up across the region.
