The development of the second shot of Sputnik V vaccine has hit a technical roadblock in India, according to sources. This may result in a delay in adding more doses to India’s vaccination targets.
Russia’s Sputnik V has reportedly hit a roadblock in the development of the second dose of its Covid-19 vaccine in India. Sources in the government have said that the Russian vaccine maker is facing manufacturing issues with producing the second component (AD5) of the adenovirus vector-based vaccine. Government sources said a team of Russian scientists visited India for over a month to try and iron out the technical problems being faced by domestic manufacturers in producing AD5. Sources said the second component of the vaccine is harder to manufacture because of its design as an adenovirus vector-based vaccine.More Related News
