South African police investigating deaths of 21 minors between the ages of 13 and 17 at tavern

South African police are investigating the deaths of 21 minors between the ages of 13 and 17 years old at a tavern in the coastal city of East London.

Nine of the victims are females and 12 are males. Police found 17 lifeless bodies inside the tavern when they arrived, while two others died at a local clinic, one died at a hospital, and one died while on the way to the hospital. 

The owner, Siyakhangela Ngevu, told eNCA that he was called by security because there was "chaos" at the tavern.
