Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday said that Mathura and Vrindavan will be connected with a cruise service by developing waterways on the Yamuna.
In a bid to promote religious tourism, soon, Mathura and Vrindavan will be connected with a cruise service by developing waterways on the Yamuna, Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said.
Responding to Shankaracharya Adhokshajanand Deo Tirth's question on Monday about the role of the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in promoting tourism in the area, he said that this service will allure people travelling to Agra, to come and visit Mathura as well.
Sonowal said, "Gokul, Mathura and Vrindavan would be connected by developing waterways on the Yamuna."
He revealed that he had already taken feedback from the officers of his department about the progress of the Centre's 'Har Ghar Jal' project in the area.
