Punjab Police has been pushing for the extradition of the Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, who is a prime accused in the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. A Red Corner Notice has been issued against the gangster.
Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice (RCN) for the extradition of the Canada-based gangster Satwinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, who claimed responsibility for killing Punjab singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala.
A police spokesperson said that Goldy Brar, who is a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib and had gone to Canada on a student visa in 2017, is an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The official further said that 10 days before the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala, the Punjab Police had sent a proposal to the Crime Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to issue a Red Corner notice against Goldy Brar to pave the way for his extradition to India.
The official added that the proposal was sent based on two cases, including a 2020 case registered under relevant sections of IPC and of the Arms Act, PS City Faridkot, District Faridkot; and a 2021 case registered under relevant sections of IPC and the Arms Act at PS City Faridkot, District Faridkot.
In a Facebook post, Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the attack on Sidhu Moose Wala. Goldy Brar said, “Sachin Bishnoi Dhattaranwali, Lawrence Bishnoi, and I are behind the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala.”
The gangster claimed he had killed Sidhu Moose Wala to avenge the death of Vicky Middukhera, who was shot dead in Punjab’s Mohali last year.
