Shot at after being gang-raped, minor girl's life was saved by mobile phone: Pune Police

A minor was gang-raped and shot at in Pune after she tried to escape. The bullet could not cause fatal harm to the girl because her mobile phone got in the way, say police.

A minor girl was gang-raped and shot at in Maharashtra's Pune city. The police have arrested two suspects in connection with the case and a hunt is underway to nab three others. According to the police, the girl is a resident of Pune's Sahkar Nagar area. Accompanied by a friend, the minor girl went for a birthday party at Pune's Warje Malwadi area on the day of the incident.
