The International India Film Academy Awards 2022 (IIFA) were held in Abu Dhabi recently. Meanwhile, a throwback video from 2016 is going viral where Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar are seen arriving at the award ceremony riding on donkeys.
It’s time for International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA)! The most-awaited award ceremony is back after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. IIFA 2022 was spread over two days, June 3 and 4. The prestigious award ceremony is all set to air on Colors TV now on June 25 at 8 pm. A throwback clip from the 2016 ceremony is now going viral on social media where Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar are seen sitting on donkeys as they enter the stage. The award ceremony was held earlier this month at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
In the video shared on the official Instagram handle of IIFA, Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar are seen riding two donkeys. Shahid says, "Those people who use to make their entries on hummers, sports bikes, through fire are now entering with two donkeys." Farhan adds, "The donkeys must be thinking the same. I must say Pappu, nice ride." Shahid thanks him. This moment is from IIFA 2016.

This year marks the 22nd IIFA Awards. It took place on June 3 and 4. An IIFA Weekend Press Conference took place on June 2 at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The main IIFA event on June 4 was hosted by Salman Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh and Maniesh Paul. The IIFA Rocks event on June 3 saw Farah Khan and Aparshakti Khurana turn emcees. The awards show will stream on Colors TV now. The main IIFA 2022 event was a starry affair. The performer's line-up included Abhishek Bachchan, Shahid Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Divya Khosla Kumar and Nora Fatehi. IIFA Rocks Performers will be Devi Sri Prasad, Tanishk Bagchi, Guru Randhawa, Honey Singh, Neha Kakkar, Dhvani Bhanushali, Zahrah S Khan, Dhvani Bhanushali, Asees Kaur and Ash King.
