Samsung will host its next iteration of the Galaxy Unpacked event tonight, August 10 at 6:30 PM IST. The company is expected to launch a host of devices in India that includes two foldable smartphones (Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4), a smartwatch (Galaxy Watch 5), and TWS earbuds (Galaxy Buds 2 Pro). Typically, Samsung launches Galaxy Note smartphones at this point of the year, but the company is now focusing more on its S-series and Fold-series smartphones. In fact, the company has already started rolling out some Note-specific features on its other smartphones. The last S22 series and Fold phones, for instance, have SPen stylus support, which was earlier limited to Galaxy Note phones.

What to expect from the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 eventFirstly, Samsung hosts three to four Galaxy Unpacked events and this year we have already seen the launch of the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy Book laptops. At the current event, we expect the launch of four premium Samsung products.
Starting with the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the company has likely improved the hinge mechanism. The biggest issue with the last Flip smartphone was the battery, and Samsung may improve the battery tech this year. Design-wise, the Z Flip 4 will feature the old clamshell-folding mechanism with minor tweaks in the camera department. It will be interesting to see if the phone gets an under-display selfie camera and support for the SPen stylus.
Coming to Galaxy Z Fold 4, the phone already appeared on Amazon ahead of the launch. Design-wise the phone is the same as the last Galaxy Z Fold 3, but the screen will now offer a wider aspect ratio. It may also draw power from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Other specifications remain unclear.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro will succeed the Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. The earbuds may continue to support ANC (active noise cancellation) and feature dual drivers for sharper lows and mids. We expect a slight change in terms of design.
