Sameer Wankhede an officer from backward caste, being targeted: Union minister Ramdas Athawale 

On Sunday, Union minister Ramdas Athawale said that Sameer Wankhede is "an officer from a backward caste" and is "being targeted" by Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik.

Sameer Wankhede is the zonal director of the Narcotic Control Bureau's Mumbai unit. He has been leading the NCB's investigation into the Mumbai cruise drugs case, in which Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan was arrested on October 3.
