Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has urged PM Modi to find a way to enable students, who were evacuated from Ukraine, to continue their studies in India.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging the Centre to find ways to enable all medical students, recently evacuated from Ukraine, to complete their education in India.
Stalin, while acknowledging the efforts taken by the Indian government in bringing back thousands of students caught in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, said he would like to draw PM's attention to the emerging need to address the uncertain future faced by thousands of students who were studying in Ukraine.
Given the uncertain future faced by our students returning from #Ukraine, I have requested our Hon'ble @PMOIndia to intervene and enable these students to continue their studies in India. I've also assured him to offer unstinted support from Tamil Nadu Govt in this regard. pic.twitter.com/7EEOstJw78
"Since the beginning of the conflict, over 1200 medical students have so far returned to Tamil Nadu and the remaining students are also expected to return in the coming days. The current situation has already resulted in the disruption of their studies and also threatens their future careers", stated CM Stalin.
He also mentioned that given the current unprecedented situation in Ukraine, it might not be practically possible for these medical students to return to their colleges in Ukraine.
