Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has announced that Agniveers will be given guaranteed jobs in the state government once they are relieved after four years of service in the armed forces.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday announced that Agniveers will be given guaranteed jobs in the state government after completing their four-year stint in the armed forces.
“Those who want to get Haryana Govt jobs will be given guaranteed jobs. Those who want can get inducted into any cadre for Group C jobs. Otherwise, we have jobs in police, which will be given to them,” Khattar said.
The announcement comes days after Khattar said the Haryana government will give priority to Agniveers -- recruited in the military through the Agnipath scheme -- in government jobs once they are relieved after four years of service.
Agniveers would be given good remuneration, the CM said last Wednesday (June 15), adding that in the first year, they would be given Rs 4.76 lakh, which would increase to Rs 6.96 lakh.

“When they return after four years, they will be given around Rs 12 lakh. They will be given other benefits, allowances, and insurance,” he had assured.
The announcement of the Agnipath scheme on Tuesday triggered violent protests in several parts of the country, with agitating defence job aspirants demanding its rollback citing only four-year tenure for 75 per cent of the recruits under it.
