Red alert issued for Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh; heavy rainfall predicted over next 72 hours

The IMD on Monday predicted heavy rainfall over most districts of Uttarakhand and parts of Himachal Pradesh. Authorities in both states have been asked to remain alert.
A red alert warning of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for most of Uttarakhand's 13 districts, along with parts of Himachal Pradesh.
