Police said a WhatsApp group was used to gather the mob ahead of the Ranchi violence.
Three days after a protest over suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad turned violent, claiming two lives and injuring many in Jharkhand’s Ranchi, police said that a WhatsApp group was used to gather the mob.
A police investigation revealed that a WhatsApp group, Wasseypur Gang, was used to gather an angry mob.
Sources said police are looking for the admin of the online group.

The protest, one of many reported from several cities across the country, took place after Friday prayers.
Demonstrators holding placards and shouting slogans demanded the BJP leader’s arrest for her controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad.
