Annamalai is a commercial entertainer which has screenplay written by Suresh Krissna and Shanmugasundaran. The film is a remake of 1987 Hindi film, Khudgarz, which is based on Jefferey Archer's novel Kane and Abel. Annamalai features Rajinikanth, Khushbu and Sarath Babu in lead roles. Radha Ravi, Nizhalgal Ravi and Manorama were seen in supporting roles. The film was released in 1992 and ran for 175 days in theatres.
