Qatar's Industrial Production Index up 1.7 percent in April

Doha: Qatar's Industrial Production index (IPI) in April 2021 amounted to 99.8 points, decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the previous month (March 2021), while increased by 1.7 percent, when compared to the corresponding month in 2020.
The Industrial Production Index consists of three main components: "Mining" with a relative importance of 83.6 percent, "Manufacturing" with a relative importance of 15.2 percent, "Electricity" with a relative importance of 0.7%, and finally "Water" with a relative importance of 0.5 percent. The Planning and Statistics Authority data showed that the "Mining" index witnessed a decrease by 0.4 percent compared to the previous month (March 2021), as a result of the decrease in the quantities of "crude oil petroleum and natural gas" by 0.4 percent, while "Other mining and quarrying" showed an increase by 0.4 percent. When compared to the corresponding month of the previous year (April 2020), the IPI of Mining increased by 2.6 percent.More Related News
