Presidential polls: Flanked by Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Yashwant Sinha files nomination

The opposition's presidential candidate, Yashwant Sinha, filed his nomination papers on Monday.
The opposition presidential candidate, Yashwant Sinha, filed his nomination papers at the Parliament in New Delhi on Monday. He was flanked by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and NCP's Sharad Pawar.
Leaders including Congress’ Mallikarjun Kharge and Jairam Ramesh accompanied him for the filing of the nomination. Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav and RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary were also present.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS) working president and Minister KT Rama Rao also attended the nomination programme. Along with Rama Rao, son of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (also known as KCR), and some of the TRS MPs were also present.
Parties supporting Sinha's candidature include TMC, Congress, CPI, Shiv Sena, NCP, SP, DMK, RJD, NC, AIUDF, NCP, RLD, PDP and AIMIM.
Former union minister, Yashwant Sinha (84), was chosen as the consensus candidate from the Joint Opposition for the upcoming Presidential elections which will take place on July 18, 2022.
