The Maharashtra government opposed the public interest litigation (PIL) which sought that travel permission for unvaccinated people in Mumbai's local train. The PIL contended that restriction on their movement in the local train violated their constitutional right.
The Bombay High Court had sought response from the Maharashtra chief secretary while asking the Maharashtra government to file a reply on the PIL.
