Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders including Ajit Pawar, Sunil Tatkare, Jayant Patil, and Chhagan Bhujbal met former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at his residence, Matoshree, on Wednesday. This comes over a month after the rebellion led by Eknath Shinde brought the downfall of Maha Vikas Aghadi government, comprising Shiv Sena, Congress, and the NCP.
This was the NCP leaders first meeting with Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree following the Shinde-Fadnavis alliance forming a government in Maharashtra. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) called it a “goodwill meeting”.
Meanwhile, the fight for the “real” Shiv Sena continues between the Uddhav faction and the Shinde faction. A batch of petition is pending before the Supreme Court in connection to the case. Both factions of Shiv Sena have also filed plea before the Election Commission of India over claims to the party.
