Odisha: Incessant rainfall triggered by deep depression; Puri, Bhubaneswar break highest single-day rainfall record in September
India Today
Incessant rainfall in Odisha since Saturday night threw life out of gear and triggered flood threats with the rise in the water level of major rivers.
Heavy rainfall lashed across Odisha under the influence of deep depression over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha coast. Under its influence, several parts of Odisha, including Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have been receiving heavy rainfall, leading to water-logging in low-lying areas. Odisha’s Special Relief Commissioner has issued an advisory to the collectors of Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Kendrapada, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Bhadrak and Jajpur to remain on high alert as rising water levels of major rivers in these areas have triggered flood threats.More Related News
