NYPD officer shot in foot in The Bronx

An NYPD lieutenant was shot in the foot around midnight Saturday in The Bronx during a fight with a suspect, law enforcement sources said.

Gunfire erupted at Lyman Place and East 169th Street in the Foxhurst section after police responded to a late Friday night 911 call there, according to the sources. The uniformed lieutenant was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to recover, the sources said.
