
Nine workers rescued after under-construction building collapses on University of Hyderabad

Nine workers injured in building collapse at University of Hyderabad, two critical, investigation ongoing.
Around nine workers sustained injuries after an under-construction building at the University of Hyderabad caved in on Thursday night.
While seven workers sustained minor injuries and were rescued right after the building collapse, two others who were stuck inside are said to be in a critical condition. All the nine persons were rushed to a private hospital in the vicinity where they are undergoing treatment.
The incident was reported around 9 p.m., when the under-construction portico, about 30-feet in height, of the new administration building collapsed.
“The supervisor was not present at the site. The workers have been rescued and rushed to the hospital. Searches are ongoing to ensure that no workers are left trapped under the debris,” Gachibowli Inspector Mohd Habubullah Khan said.
Further investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the accident is under way.
