Mukhtar Ansari denied bail by Allahabad HC in funds misappropriation case

The Allahabad High Court rejected the bail petition of Mukhtar Ansari in a funds misappropriation case.
The Allahabad High Court denied the bail plea of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Anasri in connection with the case of misappropriation of MLA funds.
The High Court had reserved its order on May 20 after hearing Mukhtar Ansari’s petition for bail. On Monday, June 13, the court rejected Mukhtar Ansari’s bail plea.
The Bench of Justice Rahul Chaturvedi delivered the verdict on Monday.
WHO IS MUKHTAR ANSARI?
Mukhtar Ansari is the MLA from Mau constituency in Uttar Pradesh. According to the state government, the gangster-turned-politician has avoided as many as 26 warrants issued by a Prayagraj court on medical grounds.
Nearly 40 cases of crime have been lodged against him at a single police station in the Ghazipur district. The five-time MLA has been acquitted in a number of cases.
An FIR was lodged against Mukhtar Ansari on 24 April 2021 at Sarai Lakhansi police station of Mau in the funds misappropriation case.
