Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Kamal Nath condemned one of his party's MLAs for boycotting the governor's address.
Madhya Pradesh Congress MLA Jitu Patwari came under attack from all sides on Monday after he decided to boycott Governor Mangubhai Patel's inaugural address on the first day of the state assembly's budget session.
While the government benches condemned the act, Congress also distanced itself from the move and termed it an individual decision.
A little while before the Assembly session was set to begin, Jitu Patwari released a video on social media in which he declared that he will boycott the governor's speech.

After this video surfaced, BJP leader and state minister Narottam Mishra questioned Kamal Nath on the floor of the House. As the Leader of Opposition in the House, Kamal Nath condemned the boycott.
"It [attending the governor's address] has been the tradition, be it Assembly or Lok Sabha, or any House of the country. Tradition should be maintained. All I want to say is that it [the boycott] was not our party's decision. I came to know about this tweet only an hour ago.I do not agree with the tweet as it affects the dignity of the House," Kamal Nath said.
