Minister participates in Makkaludan Mudhalvar special camps in Namakkal
Adi Dravidar Welfare Minister M. Mathiventhan participated in the third phase of the Makkaludan Mudhalvar special camps in the district on Thursday.
The Minister participated in the camps held at Reddipatti, Karaikurichi, Thottiyavalasu, Kattanachampatti, Mullukurichi, and Perappan Solai, received petitions from the public, and distributed welfare assistance to the tune of ₹1.34 crore for 295 beneficiaries.
At the function, the Minister said that for the government schemes to reach all people easily, the Makkaludan Mudhalvar scheme was implemented by the Chief Minister. These special camps under the scheme were conducted in the panchayats where marginalised people, dalits, and tribal people were residing in greater numbers. Under the third phase, 60 camps would be conducted in the district. The petitions received in these camps would be addressed in a month. Through this scheme, the government was coming to people and providing 44 services of 15 government departments. Through the various schemes implemented by the Chief Minister, every family was able to save ₹2,000 monthly, the Minister added.
In the function, District Collector S. Uma, Senthamangalam MLA K. Ponnusamy and officials from the departments participated.

A security guard working at Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) leader Seeman’s house in Neelangarai has been arrested after he allegedly stopped police officials who went there to investigate an incident of tearing of a summons, which directed Mr. Seeman to appear before the Valasaravakkam police in connection with a complaint lodged by a female actor.
