Mehbooba Mufti's passport rejected after J&K Police cites 'national security'

Mehbooba Mufti had applied for a fresh passport in December 2019 but the application had not been cleared till date in the absence of a police verification report.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police has refused to give clearance to former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for a passport on basis of a report by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Passport Office refused to issue my passport based on CID’s report citing it as ‘detrimental to the security of India.
