Medical tests conducted on actor Posani Krishna Murali at Obulavaripalle police station. The Annamayya district police bring the actor to the police station after arresting him in Hyderabad on Wednesday night under various BNS sections. Mr. Krishna Murali was booked under various BNS Sections for allegedly making objectionable comments against TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu and JSP chief K. Pawan Kalyan, and their family members during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government’s term.
After arresting him at this residence in Hyderabad on Wednesday night, the Annamayya district police brought noted Telugu actor and former chairman of the A.P. State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation Posani Krishna Murali to the police station at Obulavaripalle at around noon on Thursday.
Mr. Krishna Murali was booked under BNS Sections 196, 353 (2), and 111 rw 3(5) for allegedly making objectionable comments against Telugu Desam Party national president N. Chandrababu Naidu and JSP chief K. Pawan Kalyan, and their family members during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government’s term.
A local JSP leader filed a complaint against Mr. Krishna Murali in this regard at the Obulavaripalle Police Station a few days ago.
Meanwhile, there was commotion at the police station when the YSRCP activists gathered there. Members of the party’s legal cell tried to enter the police station premises, but the police denied them permission. The police also denied entry to a local leader, K. Srinivasulu, who reached the police station with a large number of activists.
Senior area medical officer Guru Mahesh and his team reached the police station and conducted medical tests on Mr. Krishna Murali. Dr. Mahesh reportedly informed the police that the actor’s health condition was good.
Superintendent of Police V. Vidyasagar Naidu, along with senior police officers, conducted an inquiry into the charges against the actor.
A YSRCP leader said that as per the instructions of the former Chief Minister, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former Additional Advocate-General, Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy, was expected to reach Rajampeta to take up the case and file a writ petition in the designated court seeking bail for the actor. The party leaders accused the police of denying permission to the actor’s lawyer, Bala, to meet him.
