Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray meets Adivi Sesh and Team Major, promises funds for defence aspirants

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray met Adivi Sesh and the entire team of Major. The film is doing phenomenally well at the box office.
Adivi Sesh’s Major clashed with Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj at the box office and yet managed to score high. The film has managed to rake in about Rs 55 crore at the box office so far. Recently, the Major team added another feather to its cap when they met Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. The team comprising Adivi Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar along with filmmaker Sashi Kiran Tikka discussed the Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan (on whose life the film is based) fund in detail.

He promised to extend his full support for our MAJOR promise fund for Defence aspirants. It was an incredible moment. Thank you sir for the amazing words about our film. We will be showing the film to the entire family in the next few days. Was an absolute delight to meet Shri @adityathackeray as well. Adivi Sesh-led Major is riding high on the pillion of success. In fact, the film’s team announced Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan fund, which is an attempt to help Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) and National Defence Academy (NDA) aspirants across the country. Team Major met Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and his family, and discussed about Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan fund in detail. CM Uddhav Thackeray assured them full support. In fact, Uddhav Thackeray also praised the film and the performances of the actors and also congratulated the team for making a movie on such an important and relevant topic.
As the Maharashtra CM and his family interacted with Team Major, they also shared their own experiences during the unfortunate 26/11 attacks. Reciprocating Uddhav Thackeray's best wishes and his support to Major, the team also promised to arrange a screening for him and his family. The film’s team also received a book of photographs from the Maharashtra CM.
