Kerala schools reopen fully after a 2-year gap

After a two-year hiatus, Kerala schools have fully reopened.
Kerala schools fully reopened after a gap of more than two years on Wednesday. Schools in the state of Kerala had not reopened in a full-fledged manner for two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The state government made all the necessary arrangements to make sure that students in the state were given a warm welcome.Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan kicked off the reopening of schools across the state by inauguration a Government High Secondary School at Kazhakootam while also distributing sweets and gifts to younger students.Various cabinet ministers of the Kerala government also participated in school reopening ceremonies across various districts of the state.
Addressing the event, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan went on to remark that his government was able to handle challenges related to education due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He added that the Covid-19 pandemic was a very difficult period for children as they were confined indoors away from friends and unable to go out to play during those two long years.
The Kerala CM went on to add, that children will be able to rejoice as children will not only be able to meet friends but also be able to interact with the outside world.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan further remarked that there has been a significant increase in the number of students which has resulted in a need for more buildings and classrooms in schools to cater to their educational needs.
He stated that the state needed to be transformed into a knowledge society and that schools in Kerala should be made disabled-friendly so that no one is deprived of education.
Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty said that to ensure a safe, healthy, and secure environment for students in schools prior to reopening, all arrangements have been made.
