Kabul: The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the deadly mosque attack in southern Afghanistan that killed dozens of people in a Shia mosque.
Suicide bombers attacked a Shia mosque packed with worshippers attending Friday prayers in Kandahar province which killed at least 47 people and injured 70 others, Turkish public broadcaster TRT reported.
The attack follows several other recent attacks against religious institutions in Afghanistan, including last week`s attack against the Gozar-e-Sayed Abad Mosque in Kunduz.
