India Today
“Congress has a mentality of appeasement and has been doing that since the beginning,” BJP MP Kirodi Meena said, adding: “It’s total injustice.”
The Gehlot government ruthlessly demolished an old temple just like Aurangzeb, BJP MP Kirodi Meena said days after the Rajasthan government razed a 300-year-old Shiv temple in Alwar. The MP is sitting on a dharna outside the police station in Rajgarh.
“Congress has a mentality of appeasement and has been doing that since the beginning,” he said, adding: “It’s total injustice.”
A five-member committee has been constituted by the BJP to probe the demolition of the temple. The members will visit Rajgarh over the next three days, prepare a factual report, and hand it over to the Rajasthan BJP chief Satish Poonia.
A political war has ensued over the demolition of the temple which comes against the backdrop of bulldozers razing the homes and shops of rioters in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri.
Sharing a video of the demolition on Twitter, BJP leader Amit Malviya launched a searing attack on the Congress, saying, "Shedding tears on Karauli and Jahangirpuri and hurting the faith of Hindus - this is the secularism of Congress."
In another tweet, Amit Malviya alleged, “On 18 April, without issuing any notice, the administration ran bulldozers over the pucca houses and shops of 85 Hindus in Rajgarh town of Rajasthan.”
BJP leader Shehzad Poonawala accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of keeping silence on the demolition of a temple in Rajasthan. “Bulldozer against rioters=communal, bulldozer on Hindu faith=secular,” he said.
