J&K: Gurez BDC chairperson, former MLC join BJP; ex-PDP leaders flock to People's Conference

Chairperson of the Gurez BDC in J&K, Famida Bano joined the BJP on Monday. On the same day, Sajjad Lone's party inducted three former PDP legislators.

Chairperson of the Gurez Block Development Council (BDC) in Jammu and Kashmir has joined the BJP. Famida Bano was inducted into the Bharatiya Janata Party along with a number of local leaders at the party headquarter in Jammu's Trikuta Nagar on Monday. Speaking at the induction ceremony on Monday, BJP general secretary Ashok Kaul said Hamida Bano's entry into the party will boost the morale of workers. Gurez is a very sensitive and strategic constituency in Kashmir's Bandipora District, Kaul said.
