Sheikh Jarrah families rejected Avichai Mendelbit’s stance, saying the case is not a legal issue but forced expulsion.
Israel’s attorney general has informed the Supreme Court that he will not intervene in the legal proceedings of a high-profile Sheikh Jarrah case in which four Palestinian families in occupied East Jerusalem are facing imminent forced expulsion in favour of Israeli settlement organisations. In a statement issued on Monday, Avichai Mendelblit said “there is no place” for him to intervene in the proceedings. Last month, the Supreme Court gave the attorney general until June 8 to submit his legal opinion on the case.More Related News
