Iran officially announces Ebrahim Raisi as new president

Tehran: Iran's Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli announced on Saturday that Ebrahim Raisi has been elected the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran after obtaining 17,926,345 votes out of the total 28,933,004 ballots.
In a press conference on Saturday, Rahmani-Fazli announced Raisi's victory after obtaining 17,926,345 votes, followed by other candidates Mohsen Rezaei Mirqaed with 3,412,712 votes, Abdolnaser Hemmati with 2,427,201 votes, and Amir-Hossein Ghazizadeh 999,718 votes. The Iranian Interior Minister added that the participation rate was 48.8 percent, stressing that after counting all the votes, candidate Ebrahim Raisi received 17,926,345 votes.More Related News
