IPL 2021: Bowlers love playing under MS Dhoni because he understands their strengths, says K Gowtham

IPL 2021: New recruit Krishnappa Gowtham said he doesn't feel the burden of expectations due to his hefty price tag, adding it's a dream come true for him to play under MS Dhoni at Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai Super Kings' new-recruit Krishnappa Gowtham stressed on Monday that bowlers love playing under MS Dhoni and he is no exception, saying the former World Cup-winning captain is peerless when it comes to understanding bowlers' strengths and managing them. K Gowtham, who had an ordinary IPL 2020 in which he managed to play just 2 games for Punjab Kings, was bought for a whopping Rs 9.25 crore by CSK at the IPL 2021 auction in February. The off-spinner, who is a handy batsman as well, made a mark in his debut season in 2018, picking up 11 wickets for Rajasthan Royals before making the move to Punjab in 2020. Gowtham has not been in the best of forms in the Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare Trophy white-ball tournaments but he played down the burden of expectations due to the price tag, saying he is fortunate to represent CSK and play under Dhoni.
