India vs New Zealand: VVS Laxman said Cheteshwar Pujara would have been 'very disappointed' after missing out on a good opportunity to end his hundred drought, which has stretched to 42 innings. Pujara was dismissed for 47 on Day 3 of the 2nd Test in Mumbai.
Former India batter VVS Laxman on Sunday conceded that Cheteshwar Pujara failing to convert his starts into a three-figure score is definitely a worry for Team India in the longest format of the game. Pujara's long wait for a Test hundred extended to 42 innings as he got out for 47 on Day 3 of the 2nd Test against New Zealand in Mumbai on Sunday.
Pujara was looking set after having dealt with the threat of spin from milestone man Ajaz Patel and short-ball tactics from Tim Southee. It looked like Pujara would get to the 3-figure mark that has been evading him since the 193 he hit in Sydney in January 2019 against Australia.
