India records 17,073 fresh Covid cases, 21 deaths in one day

India recorded 17,073 new Covid-19 cases and 21 deaths in the last twenty four hours.
India recorded 17,073 new cases in the last 24 hours, 45.4% higher than the previous day. This brings the total number of cases to 4,34,07,046. according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The death toll climbed to 5,25,020. with 21 new fatalities reported in the country in the last 24 hours.
80.87 per cent of the cases were reported from Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Maharashtra alone is responsible for 38.03 per cent of the cases.

Meanwhile, a total of 10,917 patients recovered fully, which brings the total recoveries to 4,27,72,398 across the country. India's recovery rate now stands at 98.58%.
A total of 12,72,739 Covid vaccine doses were administered within that period, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,97,08,51,580.
A total of 4,53,940 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
