IIT Guwahati creates environment-friendly solution for cook-stoves that saves energy by 25-50%

IIT Guwahati researchers have created an energy-efficient and environment-friendly technology for cook-stoves. The 'Porous Radiant Burners' can save fuel consumption by 25 to 50% and operates on LPG, biogas and kerosene.
IIT Guwahati created an energy-efficient and environment-friendly technology got cook-stoves which has now been transferred to its industry partner Agnisumukh Energy Solutions for commercialisation.
A research team headed by Prof. P Muthukumar, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Guwahati, had developed ‘Porous Radiant Burners’ for cook-stoves, which can provide fuel saving in the range of 25 to 50 percent. It can be operated with LPG, biogas and kerosene.
