I have spent much of my life investigating how strategic uses of language not only change our perceptions of reality but make certain thoughts unthinkable. Words, of course, are the very medium of our thoughts. Our thoughts come to us in words. Thus, limiting the number of words available to us also limits the range of thoughts we can think.
