Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy challenges Revanth Reddy's claims, defends BJP's stance on Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, also Telangana BJP president, said the Hyderabad Metro Rail project second phase detailed project proposals for 76.4-km and costing ₹24,269 crore are under circulation to various ministries and will be processed as per the procedures.
““Did Mr. Revanth Reddy discuss his promises with us before coming to power? Did he say that he will take up projects only if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP give funds? Is it right to do blackmail politics?” he questioned, at a press conference in New Delhi on Thursday.
“The project proposals were sent only recently. It cannot be cleared just like that,” he said, adding that he was personally pursuing various projects concerning Telangana with various departments and even writing letters to them to ensure there will be progress in development works.
“I am not scared of anyone and will not accede to any kind of political threats. I am answerable to the Telangana public only and not to Mr. Revanth Reddy or the Congress party,” asserted Mr. Kishan Reddy.
The BJP leader dared the Chief Minister to show proof about he having obstructed a single project proposed by the Congress government. “No one is ready to believe Mr. Revanth Reddy. He is resorting to empty rhetoric since he is incapable, lacks courage and his government does not even make a proper financial estimate for the proposed projects,” he added.
A few days ago at a press conference here at the State office, the State party chief said there was no need for him or the Centre to oppose the metro rail project extension if the government has made plans for the same, but questioned about the DPRs and financial details.
