George Jones, known for “He Stopped Loving Her Today" and "Choices," died in 2013 at age 81. He was married to "Stand By Your Man" singer Tammy Wynette.
Jones, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, flung forward under the steering wheel and the dashboard. It took more than two hours for a rescue crew to extract his battered body, which looked like "a grotesque caricature of himself." Stephanie Nolasco covers entertainment at Foxnews.com.
"They had to get him out with the jaws of life," Jones’ fourth wife Nancy Jones told Fox News Digital. "He died twice in the helicopter on the way to the hospital. Oh, that was awful. I remember the doctor sat me down and said, ‘He’s not going to make it.’"
