Free bus ride for women in Haryana for 24 hours as Raksha Bandhan gift

The Haryana government has announced free bus travel for women across the state for 24 hours on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced 24-hour free bus travel for women on the state transport buses as a gift for Raksha Bandhan. The free bus travel will start from 12 PM on August 10 till 12 AM on August 11.
Taking to Twitter, CM Khattar wrote in Hindi, which can be translated as, "Giving the gift of Raksha Bandhan to women, Haryana government has decided to provide free travel facilities on Haryana Transport buses this year also. The facility of free travel will start from 12 noon on August 10, 2022, till 12 midnight on the day of Raksha Bandhan on August 11, 2022." (sic)

Notably, free bus rides for women have been offered in the state for the past several years. However, it was halted due to the Covid pandemic.
This year, Raksha Bandhan, a festival that marks the bond of love between siblings will be celebrated across the country on August 11.
