England call up Tom Banton as cover for Dawid Malan for final ODI vs Sri Lanka

England have called up Tom Banton as backup with Dawid Malan absent for the final ODI against Sri Lanka. The third and final ODI will be played in Bristol on Sunday (July 4).

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have added Tom Banton to their squad for the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka which will be played on July 4 in Bristol. He was picked as a backup for Dawid Malan in the squad. Banton, who has played six ODIs and nine T20Is for England, strengthened his case after belting a 47-ball century in the T20 Blast for Somerset earlier in the week. Somerset confirmed that Banton will miss their derby in the Blast against Gloucestershire on Thursday evening, as well as their home fixture against Middlesex on Friday.
